Nusa Lembongan

hubby and i took a bunch of guests from the resort on boat Tiggy to Nusa Lembongan today. - it was a beautiful beautiful day and the company was just great. It was on this island about two years ago that we got engaged :)... was nice to set foot on the island again.

Any excuse to get out of the office for the day, i am always the first to jump right at it :) ... just sitting by the restaurant and looking out to the horizon, even the dark clouds from a distance did not dampen anyone's mood. We sat at Bunga Bungalows - had a few beers and food was fantastic. The place was co-owned by a french guy called Philip. very hospitable. got his staff to prepare FOC food for the toddler that was with us. i had a thick creamy vege curry which was just so yummy. I checked out his rooms as well, clean, double or twin sharing. no air-con just fan only. website add:www.bunga-bungalows.com .. oh if you are there for the evening, they got a proper wood oven to make pizza. available after 7pm.

We only spent about 3 hours on the island as the tide was coming up and our ever so cautious crew insist we had to go by 1pm. The ride back was awesome, got totally splashed but it was absolutely fun :) .... Am sure we do another trip soon and probably find another nicer snorkelling spot next time.

About Nusa Lembongan:

A small island east coast off Bali. About 20km and under 45 minutes on boat to get to the destination from Pandang Bai which is just 15 minutes car-ride away from the resort. I read from the books and website that there are 3 or 4 surf breaks around the island but not as big as the ones you see at Pantai Kuta. Water is crystal clear, great for snorkeling and diving too. Nice white sandy beaches which is a bonus in my opinion. AND not too many peddlers.
