we got an sms at 6ish in the evening from Jeni inviting us over to Aquaria (their villa with rooms for rent) for chocolate cake (from vincents yummy!) and wine for our Glynn's birthday. there was the birthday boy and jeni and pauline and kevin - Owners of WaterGarden Hotel down the road and Gary who owns Ari homestay just next door to where we live. (Gary makes a mean big breakfast btw!) .. one of the things we miss is definitely hanging out with friends - the usual things people do on the weekends! i miss having feasts and talking about food with my friends whilst we warm one seat from one cafe to another joint few steps away :)

Gary was highly entertaining and we were just chatting about the joy (when the staff actually get what you are asking for!) and woes (when they tell you another temple needs to be built because there is an evil spirit around! what the???) of working and being business owners here in Bali and the oxymoron label came up about hardworking individuals like us coming to Bali and trying to make things work while at the same time there is only so much we can do and so quickly we can get it done! such individuals are called LAZY WORKAHOLICS! :)... we really like the sound of it and Pauline commented that it makes a great title for a book which is true! :)
We had second helpings of the yummy chocolate cake leaving one mini piece behind, lying on the plate forever. It was right in front of me and by the time i decided whether if i wanted a third, it was taken away thank goodness! ;)
It was close to midnight when we pulled ourselves away from that lovely peaceful Aquaria. We had a lovely evening, good conversations, great company, yummilicious chocolatey chocolate cake. :)
